PC Process Mapping

Description:

This is one of the most frequently requested services from TGG.  Many of our transactional business environments have ‘grown’ over time with new employees, new software, and very few people (if any) understand the inputs, process steps, and outputs from the start of the order to cash process to the end.

What happens next?  “I have no idea”

What are we waiting on?  “I hate to repeat myself, but I have no idea”

Who do I blame?  “I do know that answer.  The process that we don’t have”

This service will allow your organization to map a current state of your order to cash transactional process, identify the best benefit/effort opportunities, and then rapidly create a future state.

Definition of all value add tasks
Definition of all non value added tasks
Definition of all delays and hand offs
Identification of errors into the process
Comprehensive list of software & databases that are currently required
Definition of all decisions / approvals that are required

We have never met a business executive that **didn’t want a status dashboard that provides visibility of the workflow across their organizations.  The first step towards that end (and TGG has programmed many dashboards after our mapping events conclude) is understanding the process needs of the business.

Some additional quotes from our past projects:

“Your team of seven sent 25,000 emails to each other in the last four weeks. Primary reason – What is the status?”
“So you are telling me we go through 600 steps to complete 7 functional fields?”
“We didn’t know you were sending bank routing information by … email”
“Value-add time is 2 minutes, non-value add time is 75 minutes, and the overall lead time is 5 days”
“Then I enter this information on my log sheet and save to my hard drive”

Duration:

3 days SCO
10 days RUN (typically mapping the current state requires one week and mapping / modeling the future state requires a week)
2 days Evaluate

Typical Outcomes:

  • Current state map
  • Future state map
  • Prioritized list of opportunities
  • 50 to 85% lead time reduction
  • 50% error reduction
  • 50 to 75% reduction of field selections and screens
