About Us

Terri’s focus at The Guthrie Group (TGG) is learning what our client’s biggest needs are to match them with the expertise, products and services of our extremely talented consulting group.

Prior to learning about Lean and joining TGG, over the years (numbers not to be mentioned) she was in advertising, trade show management and promotion, marketing research, and invested many years teaching elementary students.

Terri grew up around the US before landing in NC, where she graduated from UNC-Greensboro, and has lived ever since. In her personal time she enjoys volunteering in her local church and community, including several swim teams, in addition to “tri-ing” to stay fit, to keep up with her husband and (4) children.

If you do any significant correspondence with us – it’s likely you’ll run across Terri.  Just tell her what information that you need and she’ll take it from there; it’s unlikely you’ll do much waiting on her!

Whether leading teams of 12 – 18 people facilitating Kaizen, or in professional training environments – Zack continually challenges students to implement change. His versatility and insight provide value to our clients at various stages in their lean journey, from policy deployment, assessments and analysis to project implementation, whether in manufacturing or transactional environments.

Zack has worked in a multitude of industries across the US and abroad over the past nine years, including over 4,400 hours of training and Kaizen event facilitation, with nine years of prior engineering experience with companies such as Black & Decker and GE, having received his Industrial Engineering degrees and his PE from NC State.

He enjoys playing golf, water skiing and anything that involves his family.  Zack and Kristin have (6) children and enjoy time with both sets of parents who live in Hickory and Winston-Salem, NC.  He continually finds himself wondering if he’s teaching his children …. or if they are teaching him.  We’ll just have to wait and see on that one …

Jeff is a results-oriented Lean Master Black Belt with more than 17 years of experience consulting in all areas of process management and improvement, with demonstrated expertise in Six Sigma, Lean, Change Management, TQM, Reengineering, as well as Strategic and Performance Planning.

Jeff is an expert and well-respected mentor who has successfully trained and coached thousands of Belts in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Asia to project completion.  Jeff holds a Ph.D in Leadership Studies, MBA/Electronic Commerce, and BS/Management/Computer Information Systems.

Phil brings a wealth of management executive experience from medical, banking, defense, and high tech electronics, as a Master Black Belt, BSEE, PMP and an MBA.

He is a consummate teacher, coaching individuals, leading and training diverse corporate teams, and an MBA-level instructor in the University setting. Phil has a love of learning and helping others to succeed. His hands on experience in engineering, manufacturing, project management, and leadership provides practical solutions.

Phil enjoys spending time with his sweetheart and has two daughters. He also enjoys fly fishing, woodworking, and the outdoors.
