(Transactional) 3P Kaizen

Description:

3P is a rapid and highly iterative tool within Lean Six Sigma which allows us to prototype screen designs for your portal, software, and computer screens.  Teams work through the following process:

– ID task
– Create keywords
– Find examples (outside of the current application)
– Create sketches of the solution
– Rank and prioritize using a Pugh matrix (or similar tool)
– Trystorm

Think like a (12) year old building a treehouse

No money, no fancy materials, lots of energy, tons of creativity, and no patience

– 20% plan
– 40% do
– 40% re-do

3P is expressive of the phrase “Fail fast, fail cheap, fail often, and fail forward” so that the solution that is generated is a 5th or 6th generation idea and in 3D if applicable.  This tool is commonly used in manufacturing, but TGG uses this to model forms, templates, web pages, formatted tables within email, dashboards, and many others within the field of software.

Some clients need to apply 5s to their PC environments – others use 3P to completely demolish and rebuild their current PC environment and rebuild the future state in at least (7) different varieties. Phenomenal tool for engaging your cross-functional team.

Duration:

2 days SCO
5 days RUN
1 day Evaluate

Typical Outcomes:

  • (7) Unique future state models
  • Refinement of the essential (minimal) fields that are necessary
  • Goal is typically to spend 1/4 of what capital was intended for the project while achieving 4X productivity gains over the existing system
