Black Belt Week 3 Training
During the D, M, and A phases of Six Sigma, the strength of the relationship between the input variables and the process output was established. All of this investigation was done passively, that is, without adjusting the process. In the Improve phase, the students will be introduced to different approaches efficiently adjusting the process to improve the process. Some improvement may be achieved by modifying a single factor, but optimization frequently requires adjusting multiple factors. This additional level of complexity requires the use of more sophisticated statistical tools.
In this highly interactive session, students will learn how to plan, design, and analyze multi-variable Design of Experiments. The methods and concepts are taught with “toys” which can be adjusted to reinforce the key points of this material.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Plan and design a multi-variable experiment using: Full factorial designs; Fractional factorial designs
- Determine the appropriate sample size for an experiment.
- Understand benefits, limitations and risks of fractional factorial designs.
- The identification of curvature in the design through the use of center points.
