3P Kaizen (Manufacturing)

Description:

3P is a rapid and highly iterative tool within Lean Six Sigma which allows us to prototype equipment layouts (cells or entire plants), tooling, fixturing, and even software portals, and computer screens.  Teams work through the following process:

– ID task
– Create keywords
– Find examples (outside of the current application)
– Create sketches of the solution
– Rank and prioritize using a Pugh matrix (or similar tool)
– Trystorm

Think like a (12) year old building a treehouse

No money, no fancy materials, lots of energy, tons of creativity, and no patience

– 20% plan
– 40% do
– 40% re-do

3P is expressive of the phrase “Fail fast, fail cheap, fail often, and fail forward” so that the solution that is generated is a 5th or 6th generation idea and in 3D if applicable.

This is one of TGG’s most requested services and we’ve refined our approach and execution of this powerful tool across numerous applications in many different industries.
